Welcome to Mrs. McGee's website!
This is my eighth year teaching Language Arts at OJHS. Before coming to Oakwood, I taught for six years at Rossville-Alvin Junior High. Therefore, this makes it my 14th year of teaching! Wow, time sure does fly by!
I grew up in Catlin, Illinois with dreams of working and helping people in some way. Once I graduated from Catlin High School in 1996, I started my college education at Danville Area Community College. While taking classes, I began tutoring my fellow students and soon discovered that I really enjoyed teaching. Once my two years there were complete, I finished my bachelor's degree in 2000 at Eastern Illinois University. I received a degree in history and a minor in English.
While in college, I married my high school sweetheart, Matt McGee. He farms in Catlin along with his father. He grows corn, soy beans, hay and cattle. Together we have four children: Jacob age 17, Shelby age 13, Karli age 10 and Grayson age 5. They are active in baseball/softball, basketball, motocross, football, and cheer. So you can say we are VERY busy and rarely home! But I love my crazy life, and my beautiful family that I have been blessed with.
Below are recent pictures from our blessed, crazy life. :)
